Mama and Papa have not been updating my blog for ONE month. What are they doing man?

Mama started work on 11 Jun and I went to school for full-day since 1 Jun. School has been fun but I am trying hard not to get sick. My friends Ashton and Jere has been sneezzing and coughing. I have got a slight cough from them, and my Papa has got a severe cough.

I am now able to do a half turn on my right hand side after Papa got me a new Seahouse mattress last week. And just last weekend, I can do a heads-up pose and Mama say I look good. I will ask Mama to post some picture of me on my head-up pose.

Home is still the best

Today I am finally staying at home. Home is always better. I eat well and sleep well. Papa feed me this morning, but after that I am happy that Mama let me drink directly from her at noon. I am happy and I slept for 4 hours. After the next meal, I sleep again. So happy… Finally no more cries from my baby friends to disturb me.

Mama looks different

Mama has changed me to a half day afternoon session so that she can spend me time with me. In the afternoon she put me to school and went off. She came back at 7pm, and I am the last baby to go home again. Her hair looks curly and has a funny smell but she look good! I hear her tell Papa that she spent $12 to cut her hair, $100 to do colouring and highlight, $30 for treatment and $26 for a hair cream. Wow it’s $168 but she is happy and she look good so I’m happy too.

I did not sleep well in school today. Guess what, I knocked out from 9pm after drinking my milk and I did not wake up until Mama woke me up at 6.30am in the morning. We continued sleeping until 9am. Papa Mama and me all had a good sleep last night.

I go to Mama's school – 17 May

Second day at the infant care. Mama left me there and went away in the morning, she told the teachers that she will be fetching me at 3pm to go to her university workplace. Teacher Jennifer is not around today and Lin Lao Shi takes care of me. Mama teach her how to bathe me, but I do not like her way. I scream until Mama takes over. I still like Mama to bath me.

Mama came at 3pm to bring me home. It was raining so heavily that I got a bit wet even being tightly wrapped up in the sarong. Lin Lao Shi did not feed me at 2pm, but Mama was already late. Mama took me home to take the cakes and call a taxi. She used both hands to carry the cakes but I feel safe in the sarong. I am independent, I do not need to be carried by her hands.

When we reached the school, Uncle Matthew, Uncle Lee, Uncle Melvin, Auntie Siew Eim and Auntie Irene all came down to help Mama carry the cakes up to the office. I saw Mama’s boss, he looks nice. So many people carry me and I like. Mama keep talking to other people and leave me with all the Aunties and Uncles. I also saw Uncle Brian who came over the last time to our house.

I go to school – 16 May

Mama has put me in infant care because she want some time on her own before she goes back to work. She has only 3 more weeks left. So far the past 9 weeks she has spent with me at home, doing housework and carrying me when I cry and cannot sleep.

There are many little friends at school. I am the youngest and Isabelle is second at 5.5 months old. There are 7 altogether in the class with Teacher Jan, Teacher Jennifer, Teacher Rebecca and Lin Lao Shi. I like Teacher Jennifer and I finished all the 3 bottles of 90ml milk that she feeds me. Now I cannot bully the teachers already like I did with Mama, because my friends cry even louder than me. I cannot sleep in school but I like the music the teacher play for me.

I’m on the move

Papa took leave and rented a car, we went to Bro Shail’s first birthday party on 28 Apr. Mama put me in a sarong so that she can feed me as and when I’m hungry.

Stroller which Auntie Xiaomin gave me. This is used by Bro Shaun and Bro Shail. I do not like to sit in it because it is too upright. But Papa and Mama did not care and pushed me to take MRT to Causeway Point. The road was rough and it was uncomfortable with the up and downs and the humps. But I finally still fell asleep because I have inherited my Mama’s sleeping genes.

My real first month

This is my real first month 22 Apr. Er Jiu sent us a cake to celebrate. The cake taste yummy. How do I know? Mama eat and I taste it in the milk. Believe it or not…

Mama alone

Mama alone will be bathing me after Auntie Guihua goes home. I like Mama to bathe me because she will sing song for me. She says, ‘Baby Xiao Lexiang, chong liang chong xiang xiang’. And like Auntie Guihua she also say ‘zei nen sa, baby zhang zhui bo cheng sa. Zei nen sa si, baby zhang zhui bo dai bo ji’ before putting down into the water. I like..!

When Mama is busy cooking or washing clothes, Papa will put me on the swing beside his table while he plays his computer game.

I hate bottles!

Mama insist that I learn to drink from the bottle before I go to infant care. For her first attempt, I’ve decided to co-operate and drink properly but after that I want to latch on when she is around! I hate bottles.

Full month celebration continue...

My first new clothes. All the clothes I was wearing are all old clothes. This is my first new clothes after I came back from hospital. Papa and Mama bought it for me when I was still in Mama’s tummy.

The ‘fu gui’ plant that Lao Day Yi Zhang gave us when he moved house was blooming with flowers on my first month celebration day. The flowers are also happy for me and Mama. Mama is very happy because she finally can bathe properly.

My first month, full moon celebration

Interesting things happen on the first month celebration. According to Auntie Guihua, it can only be celebrated early and not later, so it is held on 15 Apr and I am only three weeks old. Papa and Mama have invited all the relatives to our house for food and to see me. I have received a lot of presents and ang pao. Papa and Mama will help me open a savings account to put in all the ang pao money.

Ah Gong gave me an anklet with hearts on it and he is helping me to wear on my first month celebration.

Papa cut my hair as Ah Gong says shaving is not nice and Papa says that my head is still too soft.

Me Sick

Seeing these pictures, you might think that I am some kind of Batgirl in transformation. But actually it is because that I had Jaundice. And King Yan and Queen Lan had to rent home a photo-therapy set for me to sleep in. I think this has been a worrying period for my parents.

More Aunties and Uncles

More aunties and uncles came to see me because I am very cute and give Mama moral support because she is going to have post natal blues after feeding me almost 24 hours a day. Bo bian, because I do not know what to do when I wake up, so I cry for milk milk. Wai Gong, Auntie Ngoh, Uncle Qiusheng, Auntie Ashley, Auntie Shermin, Auntie Patricia, Uncle CHee Kiat, Auntie Daphne, Uncle Kevin, Sis Nasya, Sis Kaela, Auntie Angeling, Uncle Patrick, Sis Minxi, Sis Minli, Auntie Deidre, Auntie Joanne, Uncle Terence, Bro Daryl. Papa’s Gan ma, Lao Xiao Gu, Lao Xiao Gu Zhang, Uncle Da, Auntie Isabelle and my neighbours Auntie Meilan, Bro Joshua, Auntie #12-03 are all very nice. Bro Daryl is very handsome.

Home Sweet Home

Papa drove me home on 25 Mar (Sunday). It was a sunny Sunday. Wai Po came to fetch Mama and me home. We also saw Er Jiu’s family downstairs the hospital. Wai Po carried me on her arms. On the way home, Papa drove us past Guang Ming Shan where Popo is. Papa say he will bring me back to see Popo another day. We reached home at 1pm. I saw my new bed, very big bed and my house is beautiful. Papa took some pictures of me.

My First Visitors

Many aunties and uncles came to see me at the hospital. Er Jiu, Er Jiu Mu, Bro Jonathon were the first to visit me 4 hours after I saw Papa and Mama. Bro Jonathon brought me a cake, and I first opened both my eyes to see. Then I spent my first night at the hospital nursery room and I was brought to Mama’s room to suck suck Mama’s milk.

The next morning and after I also saw Da Jiu, Wai Po, Lao Da Yi Zhang, Lao Da Yi, Lao Wai Po, Uncle Tiong Keat, Auntie Pauline, Auntie Annly, Uncle Xiaoqin, Auntie Lilian, Auntie Wanni, Sis Adele, Auntie Lihui, Uncle Yongsheng, Auntie Wanjun, Auntie Kangxian, Uncle Kaixiang, Auntie Zhaojin and most important my Ah Gong after he came back from the Philipines. I smiled at Ah Gong because he smiled at me and looked cute with spectacles. They also bought a lot of gifts for Mama and me.

My first photo

This is my first photo, taken with the ultra sonic scan of Dr Lawerance Ang. I don't think my limbs have been formed by then, in fact I was only a small black spot. This was only about 6 weeks. King Yan and Queen Lan were thrilled to see me. But I can't see them. I wonder do I have eyes then?

Well, King Yan is a very cautious person, therefore they checked twice with 2 different brand of test kit.

My creation - where and when

Apparently, by some rough calculation, King Yan and Queen Lan think that it should have happen during their Bintan trip in June 2006.


They were there to attend a wedding of King Yan's good friend. It was a very romantic wedding event held by the beach of Bintan.

the purpose of this blog

This blog is to keep track of me, Princess Syang. Sometimes they call me baby quek, sometimes they call me xiao quek quek and sometimes they call me Syang er.

It is now maintained by Papa (King Yan) and Mama (Queen Lan), until I am ready to take over. Papa and Mama are very busy, especially now as i cry a lot and need a lot of attention. But they will try to update this blog as promptly as possible. I know it is a bit late, this blog should have started long time ago, ideally the very first day I was created. :-)
